Blog #1 Chapter One

In reflection of chapter one, I believe that it is important to remember rhetorical situations and conventions. For rhetorical situations, a writer needs to take into consideration purpose, audience, rhetorical appeals, modes, and media. For conventions, a writer needs to think about the elements of the genre, style, design, and sources. In my history of writing, I have struggled most with style, or more specifically, tone. I’d like to think that I have an interesting personality and a creative mind, so writing extremely formal papers is definitely not my forte. In ENC 2135, I am hoping to work on that. I think developing a stronger tone and voice will greatly benefit my work as a writer and as a college student.
